Welcome to Roke and Benson Brass Band!

Roke and Benson Brass Band is a long-established traditional brass band, formed in 1882 as a temperance bugle band. It is very fortunate to have its own band hall situated on the site of the original hall in the hamlet of Roke, just outside Benson in South Oxfordshire.

The objective of the band is to ensure all members learn, and play music in a fun, relaxed and safe environment. Rehearsals take place weekly on a Monday. The band welcomes players of all ages and ability. Please visit the “Rehearsals” page for times, venue, and details of annual subscription fees.

The band does not seek to make a profit. The fees earned from event bookings are used to fund the general upkeep of the band and the repair/purchase of instruments and music. The band supports three local charities and is enormously proud of its achievements. Over the last 20 years it has raised more than £16,000 for the following worthy causes:

It is something we are enormously proud of!
